New
"Die Casting Design & Production
Preplanning Guide" for OEM Engineers

Product engineers and specifiers know that doing the right homework during
the product design preplanning stage is essential to project success.
CWM has prepared a 7-step "Design and Preplanning Guide," condensed
to a single page, to aid OEMs considering custom die cast part production.
The
Guide organizes the most relevant industry and CWM resources available
into the most useful sequence for the planning process. The source of
each die casting design and production bulletin, guide, white paper, checklist,
and reference manual is listed, with many bulletins available by immediate
Internet downloading. The PDF copy of the new Preplanning Guide, noted
below, contains direct links to an Internet page which provides easy access
to any of the documents listed in the Guide.

Proven
Offshore Tooling Options Can Offer
Advantages for Future Casting
Programs
A
new generation of die casting tooling construction technologies is now being
practiced at various levels in the U.S. and abroad.
CWM
has completed exhaustive analyses of global best practices in tool building,
including the construction of test die casting dies. With die cast product
designs that qualify, CWM can now offer proven offshore tooling options.
In such cases, tool investment economies can be achieved without sacrificing
die construction quality.
CWM
is prepared to share its best-practice findings with its OEM customers,
including special caveats which cannot be ignored in the case of offshore
toolmaking.
